A custom-built crate is needed when the artwork is either high value or is large enough to ship via freight. Do not forget to put runners on the bottom of the crate so that the crate can move on a forklift when it is being loaded or unloaded on the freight truck.  We recommend asking for a liftgate truck and an appointment for the freight delivery. That way you can make sure that you are there in order to receive the freight. A signature at the delivery is also recommended So that you can inspect the crate for any damage when the crate arrives – Do not sign free and clear until you have inspected the contents of the crate.
