If you are in a one bedroom apartment and your newborn is in the crib next to your bed, it may be time to consider moving to a new home. You may need a new home so that you can have a home office, or as your children grow up, their bedrooms may need to be larger.
It can be a two bedroom apartment, or even a new home that you plan to move into. Once you have made the decision to move, you need to take certain steps to make sure that the move goes smoothly.
Step one after you find your new residence, is to hire your movers. Since a large percentage of people move at the end of the month, you are going to need to make sure that your movers have your anticipated moving day free on their calendar so that they can move you.
Next, decide what items you are going to move. It would be a good idea to clean out your closets and cupboards before you move. That way you are not paying movers to move items that you will be getting rid of. You should check out expiration dates on the food in your pantry and inside of your refrigerator.
Look through your bookshelves. Do you have any library books that you need to return before you move?
Make sure to give notice to your current landlord. Most companies now require a sixty day written notice in order to a new location. Email should be all right, but check on the specifics that are in your current lease.
Accumulate moving boxes. While used grocery store boxes are good for some of the items that you are going to pack, we do not recommend using them for clothing. The stains from the fruits and vegetables can transfer to the clothes that you are packing.
These are just a few of the planning steps that you need to take when you are moving your home. For more information about a household move, please feel free to contact us. pack n send has been in business since 1981.
